The Facilities Management Gateway provided by FieldServer Technologies provides
seamless and simultaneous communication between a device or controller and
LonWorksTM. The FieldServer Technologies Facilities Management Gateway provides
the following characteristics and capabilities:
- Allow binding of standard network variable types (SNVTs) and user network variable types (UNVTs)
- Conforms to LonMark standards
- Capable of transmitting data using the “min. max. and delta” (throttling and heartbeat) methodology in order to reduce network loading
- Built-in diagnostics to help troubleshoot site problems during commissioning and operation
- Supports the “service pin” methodology for commissioning LonWorks nodes
- Can be configured optionally in a redundant (hot standby) pair for mission-critical applications
- Provides the ability to label SNVTs that are mapped from third party devices so that the SNVT names make sense to the LonWorks network and system integrators
- Provides user settable “self-documenting string” as its role in the network can vary
- Provides capacity for all the network variables contained in third party devices and controllers – up to the LonWorks limit of 4095 points
- Capable of supporting polled and synchronous modifiers for network variables
- Capable of reading and translating UNVTs and SNVTs
- Configurable to supply a .XIF file for use in LNS tools and utilities
- Capable of supporting more than two communication protocols on one platform
The FieldServer Technologies Facilities Management Gateway is available
in three versions. The FS-B2011 includes a LonWorks port plus a serial port
(either RS-232 or RS-485) and an Ethernet port. The FS-B3510 FieldServer
includes 4 serial ports, 2 Ethernet ports and a LonWorks port to enable interface
to most systems. The FS-B4011 includes a LonWorks port plus 10 serial ports
(both RS-232 and RS-485) and two Ethernet ports. Further details about these
two gateways are available by clicking on the names below.
LonWorks is a trademark of Echelon Corporation registered in the United States and other countries.
