Value Added Driver Development

Approved FieldServer Technologies contractors (driver developers) have written their own drivers for the FieldServer hardware to work in synergy with the current driver list from FieldServer Technologies.

The Value Added Drivers (VAD) drivers on the FieldServer platform will be sold and supported by the FieldServer Value Added Driver Developers (VADD). Please contact the VADD directly for pricing for the FieldServer solution. The VADD will sell and support the complete FieldServer solution, VAD driver, FieldServer drivers and FieldServer hardware.

Although FieldServer Technologies is not responsible for these drivers, we have taken the following steps to ensure the VADD drivers are written and supported to a high standard.

  1. The drivers are developed to the same standard as all FieldServer drivers
    • The drivers utilize the same toolkit and kernel as all other FieldServer drivers
    • A client and server side has been developed
    • Automated tests ensure the driver is compatible with any kernel changes
    • The drivers are expected to be documented to the same standard as all other FieldServer drivers
    • The driver has typically been tested with field equipment
  2. A succession strategy exists - your investment is protected
    • Steps have been taken to ensure that FieldServer have access to source code and supporting documents and tools in the event of the failure of the VADD company.
