FieldServer Meets the Interoperability Needs of Custom Home in Bermuda

Image Whether it be a multi-building university campus or a large custom home, FieldServer Technologies offers the interoperability solution desired by integrators. Environmental Technology Center of Massachusetts was contracted to install a state of the art Crestron control system in a 13,500 square foot custom home in Bermuda. Bruce Shulman of Environmental Technology said, "Due to change in the original scope of work we were suddenly faced with an HVAC system that could not interface to our Crestron system. FieldServer Technologies and their commissioning engineers at Master Thermal and MDCI came to our rescue with an easy solution to the problem." Environmental Technology used the FS-B2011 gateway to solve this potential problem interfacing from Modbus to LonWorks.

New FieldServer Technologies Approved Integrators Program

Image FieldServer Technologies maintains a list of integrators who meet documented criteria for being a FieldServer Approved Integrator. These integrators through attendance to FieldServer Training and proven success in commissioning a FieldServer have shown their ability to meet a clients needs for startup and commissioning a FieldServer system. The advantage of this program to the end-user is that commissioning assistance can be available on site from a resource that is proficient with the FieldServer.

Tech Tip - Counting Points on FieldServer

Integrators and end-users often need to know if the FieldServer can handle the number of points they have with their project. The basic FS-B20 Series can accept up to 500 points (with optional expansion to 1000 points) and the FS-B40 Series can handle up to 1000 points (with optional expansion to 20,000 points). Naturally the user needs to weigh the advantages of higher point count to the increase in polling time. To provide a better understanding of figuring the maximum number of data points available on a FieldServer, we have produced ENOTE 024, "Counting Points on FieldServer", that will help the user determine if they need to expand the memory on their FieldServer.
